The police chief in a small Maine town is due in court this week to be arraigned for a drunk driving charge.
Police charged Michael Madden of Harrison with operating under the influence after he was pulled over in Naples in November. He is the chief of police in the Oxford County town of Paris. Madden is due in Bridgton District Court for arraignment on Tuesday.
Madden was driving his personal vehicle and did not have any passengers. Police said at the time that he was cooperative during the stop. He declined to comment when reached by a reporter at the Paris Police Department, where he remains on duty as chief.
