Police Conducting Search for Missing Lowell, Mass. Woman

Police in Lowell, Massachusetts, will be conducting a search Thursday for a 67-year-old woman who went missing last month.

Elga Crespo has a host of medical issues including diabetes and high blood pressure. She takes 14 medications a day. Her family says she is mentally challenged and extremely shy, that she won't approach anyone for help and if someone approaches her she will back away.

Monday night police said a body of woman, believed to be in her 60s, was found in Chelmsford. They believe the body to be that of the missing Lowell woman.

Lowell Police will be teaming up with the Northeast Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council’s Regional Response Team, K9’s and Massachusetts State Police Air Wing to search the area around Crespo's apartment complex.

Police said officers will be walking into wooded areas and buildings.
