Police: Driver Steals Car and Flees After Serious Crash at Mall of New Hampshire

Police are looking for a New Hampshire man who allegedly crashed into a car in a mall parking lot, injuring his own passenger and another driver, and then stole another car in order to flee the scene.

Authorities said 45-year-old Keon Mercer of Manchester was driving a Nissan Versa at a high speed when he hit a Toyota Camry driven by a 67-year-old Londonderry woman outside the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester on Monday. When the driver of a Ford Focus stopped to help, police said Mercer got into that car and drove off.

A 27-year-old Manchester woman who was in Mercer's car suffered serious injuries, according to police. The nature of those injuries was not immediately known. The Camry driver's injuries are considered non-life-threatening. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital.

Mercer is also accused of shoplifting from J.C. Penney before the crash.

Police have issued warrants for Mercer's arrest. He is wanted on felony charges of conduct after an accident, theft of a motor vehicle and operating after suspension resulting in serious bodily injury. He also faces another theft charge for the shoplifting allegations.
