Police: Drunk Driver Traveled Over 100 MPH

State Police arrested a Warwick, Rhode Island, man on Saturday after he allegedly reached speeds over 100 mph while under the influence.

Around 11:11 a.m., a trooper was on Route 295 northbound in Lincoln when he clocked a speed of 121 mph in a 65 mph zone. He stopped the motorist, 65-year-old Louis Picard, and noticed signs of intoxication.

Picard is charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and reckless driving. He is held on $1,000 bail and will appear in court on July 21.
