Police say they found 1,100 bags of heroin valued at more than $27,000 during a vehicle stop in Vermont.

The Eagle Times reports police stopped a car on Interstate 91 last week in Springfield for a registration violation. They said the two men inside refused to let them search it.

Charged with possessing, trafficking and transporting heroin were 23-year-old Alex Lacasse of Vershire and 22-year-old Walter Emery of Royalton. It wasn't immediately known if they had lawyers.
