Police: Fire That Destroyed Vermont Home Was Arson

Police say firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, but the home- valued at $50,000 -was a total loss

State police say a fire that destroyed a northeast Vermont house is being investigated as arson.

The Caledonian Record reports firefighters responded to the Barton home around 10 a.m. Thursday. Crews from the Orleans fire department were at the scene to assist.

Police say firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, but the home- valued at $50,000 -was a total loss.

No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

The investigation continues.
