Police Helicopter to Search for Missing Mother

Jaimee Mendez, a 25-year-old mother from Swampscott, Massachusetts, has been missing for more than two weeks; Massachusetts State Police will search for the woman in Revere Friday.

Hours after loved ones gathered for a vigil marking two weeks since the disappearance of Jaimee Mendez, Massachusetts State Police will be searching for the missing woman by helicopter.

The 25-year-old Swampscott mother of a severely autistic 5-year-old boy was last heard from Nov. 6. Her family says she was with a Level 3 sex offender from Lynn when she felt uncomfortable and called a friend, who did not find her when he went to pick her up.

Police have not commented on the sex offender or named a suspect in the victim's disappearance.

Crews have been searching the North Shore for Mendez since Nov. 9.

Revere Police confirmed Friday that a low-flying Massachusetts State Police helicopter would be scanning that city.

Anyone with information about Mendez is asked to call (978) 537-2188.
