Police ID NY Man Accused in Drug-Related Shooting of 2 Men

Maine State Police say 34-year-old Fuquan Prince Wilson from the Bronx killed Jeffrey Lude and Russell Lavoie in Biddeford

BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) - State Police say a New York City man fired the shots that killed two men in Biddeford, Maine.

Investigators said Friday that 34-year-old Fuquan Prince Wilson from the Bronx has a lengthy criminal record. They also said the shooting was drug related, and asked the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency to join the investigation.

An arrest warrant charges Wilson with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Detectives say they're considering self-defense as a factor in the shootings, but no final decision has been made on whether other charges will be filed.

The victims were identified as 37-year-old Jeffrey Lude of Biddeford and 42-year-old Russell Lavoie of Old Orchard Beach. Biddeford and state police continue to investigate the July 6 shooting.
