Police Identify Driver Who Allegedly Hit Child With Car in Lowell, Mass.

According to Lowell Police, Carlenys Arroyo, 27 of Lowell, Mass. struck the four-year-old boy near Marshall Avenue and Stevens Street

Police say they have identified the woman who allegedly hit a child in Lowell, Massachusetts while he was trick-or-treating with his family Monday night.

According to Lowell Police, Carlenys Arroyo, 27, of Lowell struck the 4-year-old boy near Marshall Avenue and Stevens Street. The young boy was trick-or-treating at the time.

The boy was taken to Tufts Medical Center with a severe, but non-life threatening, head injury and is in stable condition.

Police said Arroyo initially left the scene, but later returned to speak with the family. Police tracked Arroyo down and cited her for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Additionally, police submitted an application to the RMV against Arroyo as an immediate threat and her right to operate a vehicle was suspended.

The incident is still under investigation.

A court date is to be determined.
