Police have publicly identified a 22-year-old man who was killed in a daytime shooting outside a market in Providence.
The Providence Journal reports Anthony Mitchell was shot as he was leaving the Rodriguez Meat Market and Grocery on Hartford Avenue with another man around 2 p.m. Wednesday. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died. He was said to be a regular visitor to the store.
Mitchell was from New York City but had been living in Lincoln.
No arrests have been made.
Mitchell's killing is the city's 20th homicide this year.
