Police Investigate After Infant Dies, 2 Adults Hospitalized in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Police are investigating the death of an infant Thursday in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and two people neighbors identified as the child's parents are in the hospital.

Authorities responded shortly before noon to a report that the infant and two adults — a 19-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man — were unresponsive at the home on Harrison Place.

The infant was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. The adults remain hospitalized.

Neighbor Jasmine Benites says her high school classmate lives in that house. The woman recently gave birth to a baby boy and her boyfriend was usually with her.

"They were satisfied being together with the baby so their parents agreed with helping them out because they were a new couple, baby and everything."

Benites' sister says the baby's grandmother and aunt live in the home too.

"First grandchild, the little sister was excited. Its very exciting we don't know what happened which is odd, because again everyone was happy, basically the whole neighborhodd was invited to her baby shower."

Officials have not released much information, and there has been no mention of drugs in their statements. Authorities have, however, said there is no danger to neighbors.
