Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run in New Haven

New Haven police are looking for the driver who hit a person who was crossing Ella Grasso Boulevard on Saturday night.

The driver took off after the accident.

The 42-year-old male victim was crossing the Boulevard at Truman Street just before midnight when he was hit by two vehicles, according to police.

One driver stayed at the scene, but the driver of the second vehicle sped away, police said.

A witness described that vehicle as a yellow car, possibly a sports car.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he died a short time later. Police did not release his identity.

Part of Ella Grasso Boulevard was closed overnight, but has since reopened.
