Police Investigate Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Former Norwich Free Academy Employee, Students

Police in Norwich are investigating alleged sexual assaults involving a former Norwich Free Academy employee and a student or students who attended the school.

According to police, their investigation into the alleged sexual assaults began in June of this year.

Norwich Free Academy released a statement about the investigation on Saturday night. 

"There is an ongoing police investigation at Norwich Free Academy into a former employee’s alleged inappropriate conduct. NFA has terminated its relationship with the subject of the investigation. The individual is no longer affiliated with NFA in any capacity. We have fully cooperated with the Norwich Police Department in connection with this matter and will continue to do so. Every day, student safety and well-being are our highest priority," said David J. Klein, Head of School.

Officers said they are not releasing the name of the employee while they continue their investigation.

Detectives are investigating the facts surrounding the allegations and how the information was discovered and reported.
