Police are investigating an alleged rape that occurred at a fraternity party on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus.
The sexual assault reportedly happened early Saturday morning during a party at the Theta Delta Chi fraternity house at 372 Memorial Drive in Cambridge
MIT police say they were notified of the alleged rape Wednesday night.
MIT police say the victim and suspect were talking to each other at the party but did not previously know one another.
According to Sgt. Andrew Turco, they went back to the suspect’s room at the fraternity house where the victim made it clear she did not want to have sex.
MIT police say despite this, "the perpetrator had non-consensual sex with the victim.”
The victim then left immediately, according to police.

MIT students say they received an email alert about the alleged sexual assault Wednesday night.
“Obviously it’s a terrible thing and I feel really bad for the girl that was affected,” an MIT junior said.
Many on campus didn’t want to talk, but one student says you can’t be careful enough.
“I’ve been there. It's definitely just a thing where people have to look out everywhere, on all college campuses, even in dorms, where so many people are around and you just don’t know everyone.”
No arrests have been made, and police have not provided a suspect description.
This incident remains under investigation.
