    Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Lowell

    Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle and killed Monday evening in Lowell, Massachusetts.

    The fatal accident happened around 5 p.m. on Church Street in the area of Warren Street.

    The 61-year-old male victim, identified as Gary Ashmore, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

    The driver of the vehicle, identified only as a male in his 30s, remained on scene after the accident.
