Police: Kids Call 911 to Save Women Who OD'd

Police said a 12-year-old girl called 911 to report the women unresponsive

Four women apparently overdosed on heroin at a home in western Massachusetts, and police say pre-teen children discovered them and called 911 in time to save them.

WWLP-TV reports the children were at the home in Springfield playing video games in a bedroom when the women were discovered.

Lt. David Kane says a 12-year-old girl called 911 around 12:30 a.m. Sunday to report they women were unresponsive.

Police, fire and emergency crews arrived soon after the call and found two of the women did not have a pulse. All four were revived with the opiate reversal drug naloxone. They were all taken to hospitals.

Kane says police found drug paraphernalia, and are following up with child welfare officials.
