[NECN] Lowell Police Seeking 'Armed and Dangerous' Man

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson would like the public's assistance finding 53-year-old Anthony "Tony" Massetti in connection with the death of a 51-year-old man who was found Saturday night in his house.

    (Published Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019)

The medical examiner determined his cause of death was blunt force injuries and the manner of death was homicide.

Officials say Massetti, who is known to the victim, had been at the residence and they have probable cause to believe Massetti is responsible for striking the victim during an altercation that resulted in his death.

Massetti frequently remains in Lowell, according to authorities, and he's known to use a bicycle to get around. Police say he is possibly in possession of one or more firearms.

Massetti has several distinguishable tattoos, including "TONY" on his right bicep, the Rolling Stones' logo on his right forearm, and a dragon on his left forearm.

This does not appear to be a random act, according to officials, however, the public is advised to not approach Massetti as he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding Massetti's whereabouts is asked to contact Lowell police at 978-937-3200 or Massachusetts State Police at 508-820-2121.

This investigation is open and ongoing.
