Maine Man Charged With Murdering His Uncle

Police responded to a home on McNally Road just before 9 a.m.

A St. Albans, Maine, man has been charged with murdering his uncle.

Jeremy Erving, 24, is charged with murdering his 53-year-old uncle, Randy Erving, inside the uncle's home at 50 McNally Rd. in St. Albans. Jeremy Erving was arrested around 2 p.m. Friday after being questioned by state police detectives. He was taken to the Somerset County Jail and is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday or Tuesday.

State police said Jeremy Erving arrived at the Somerset Sheriff's Office in Skowhegan around 9 a.m. Friday to report the incident. Deputies responded to the house on McNally Road and found Randy Erving's body in his bedroom.

The body will be taken to the state medical examiner's office in Augusta for an autopsy.
