Police Arrest Man Suspected of Operating Crack Cocaine Drug Factory: PD

A New London man is facing charges after police found crack cocaine packaged for sale in his home, which isn't far from a school, police said.

New London police arrested Darby Brown Jr. after investigating narcotic sales they suspected were going on from the basement of his 26 Hope Street home in New London, police said. The investigation has been going on for months and police obtained a search and seizure warrant for the address.

Police raided the home at about 10:20 a.m. on Monday and searched the home. They found over eight grams of crack cocaine packaged to be sold on the streets and $795, as well as drug paraphernalia, scales, plastic bags, cutting agent and strainers, police said.

Police charged Brown Jr. with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school, operating a drug factory and risk of injury to a minor.
