Tyler Pollender-Savery, 23, of Ludlow, Vermont, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with 11-month-old Karsen Rickert's January 2018 death.

A Vermont man is under arrest for his alleged involvement in the death of an infant, according to state police on Monday.

Tyler Pollender-Savery, 23, of Ludlow, allegedly killed 11-month-old Karsen Rickert in January, according to the police investigation.

The baby died after police found him unresponsive at the home of his mother, Abigail Wood, and her boyfriend, Pollender-Savery. Pollender-Savery is not the child's father.

In June, the New Hampshire Chief Medical Examiner's Office determined the child's death was caused by asphyxia due to strangulation and/or smothering.
