Police: Man Charged in Connection to Worcester Woman's Suspicious Death

A man has been arrested in connection to the death of a woman whose body was found this weekend in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Police in Worcester announced Thursday night that 33-year-old Joseph Dalrymple of Shrewsbury had been arrested earlier in the day. According to police, it was in connection to the suspicious death of 38-year-old Marlene Bleau, a Worcester woman.

Dalrymple is charged with strangulation or suffocation.

Police said Saturday that the death was believed to be an accidental drowning, but that an autopsy would need to be conducted before the exact cause could be determined. After Dalrymple's arrest, police said that the cause of Bleau's death had still not been definitively determined and that the medical examiner's office was investigating.

Bleau's body was found face down in Lake Quinsigamond, near the point where Coburn Avenue meets Bridle Path, just after 8 a.m. Saturday.

The case remains under investigation.
