Police: Man Drowns When Canoe Overturns in Plymouth Pond

Police said the victim was not wearing a life jacket

A man drowned Sunday morning after his canoe overturned in a pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

State police said they responded to Curlew Pond at Miles Standish State Forrest at 11:15 a.m.

The 69-year-old man, who had not been wearing a life jacket, was transported to Beth Israel in Plymouth where he was pronounced dead.

The victim's name has not been released.

State police are investigating the exact cause of the man's death.
