Police: Man Fired Gun in Whole Foods Parking Lot After Drug Deal Went Bad

A man fired a gun Friday night in a parking lot in Melrose, Massachusetts, police say.

A drug deal turned violent outside Whole Foods on Main Street when two juveniles refused to pay and the seller was not happy about it, according to authorities.

Police say 37-year-old Eric Marklis of North Andover met up with two juveniles. The two took off without paying for the THC vape pods Marklis was allegedly selling.

Investigators say he chased after them and fired a round into the ground, demanding they get back in his car.

Marklis is facing several charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, armed kidnapping, and drug and gun charges.

Attempts to reach Marklis for a comment have been unsuccessful.
