Police: Man Killed When Vehicle Goes Off Roadway and Into Water in Sutton, Massachusetts

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation

A man was killed Saturday evening after his vehicle went off the roadway and crashed into a body of water in Sutton, Massachusetts.

State Police responded to the crash on Route 146 southbound at about 7:40 p.m. where they found a Chrysler PT Cruiser submerged.

A preliminary investigation found that the driver, a 65-year-old man from Sutton, was traveling on the southbound side of the roadway when he somehow veered to the right and crashed.

Fire officials had to extricate the man from his vehicle because he was trapped inside.

The man, who has not been identified, was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
