Police: Man Pulled Machete on Another Driver in Road Rage Incident Near School

A Massachusetts man is facing charges after allegedly pulling a machete on another driver in a road rage incident in front of a school.

Aldo Rivera, 41, of Worcester was arraigned on Wednesday at Worcester District County Courthouse on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, assault and battery and threatening to commit a crime.

Worcester police say the road rage incident happened at the intersection of Burncoat Street and Rexhame Road on Tuesday afternoon, when officers responded to a call from a school resource officer for Burncoat High School that a man had a machete nearby, and that school had just let out.

Rivera allegedly tried to pass another driver while the school was being dismissed.

When they exchanged words, Rivera approached the other driver with a machete and then punched him in the face, according to police.

Police add Rivera's two teenaged children were in the vehicle at the time.

It's unclear if he has an attorney.
