Police: Man Steals Ambulance From Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts

No injuries were reportes

A man is under arrest after police say he stole an ambulance from a hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Tuesday.

Police said Everett Goss, 48, who is homeless, was being treated at an area hospital when he jumped into an ambulance outside and took off at 5:08 p.m.

Around the same time, an officer in a cruiser heard over the radio that the ambulance had been stolen. He was able to position himself in front of the vehicle on Gore Street.

Police said the officer got out of the cruiser and ordered Goss to stop. As he did, the ambulance lurched forward into the cruiser — causing minor damage.

No injuries were reported.

Goss was taken into custody. Police said he will be charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and operating without a license.
