A woman was inside her home when her 27-year-old son tried to burn it down Sunday in Salem, New Hampshire, police say.

Justin Kane's mother told police that after the two had an argument, her son went outside and doused the deck behind the house with gasoline, setting it on fire.

State police responded with K-9 units and a helicopter to track Kane, setting up a perimeter, but they ultimately used his cell phone to learn he had been picked up and was being taken to his father's home in Salem.

Police found him there and arrested him.

Kane will be arraigned Monday on charges of arson and reckless conduct.
