Police: Massachusetts Man Facing Drug Charges After Motor Vehicle Stop

Massachusetts State Police say a man is facing drug trafficking charges after a search of his vehicle turned up 23 baggies of heroin.

Police say a trooper stopped the vehicle driven by Dionil Abreu-Miranda just before 2:30 p.m. Friday in Revere for having a rejected inspection sticker. Police say the trooper observed Abreu-Miranda to be nervous and fidgeting.

Police say the trooper's "keen sense of perception realized something was wrong." The trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and found the heroin and more than $800 in cash.

Abreu-Miranda was arrested and charged with an inspection sticker violation and trafficking in heroin.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

Online public records didn't list any contact information for Abreu-Miranda. It's unclear whether he has a lawyer.
