Police Officer's Gun Stolen From Vehicle

A Hartford police officer woke up Wednesday morning to find his department-issued gun had been stolen.

The officer parked his vehicle near 94 Ansonia Street around midnight on Tuesday. Sometime around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, he noticed the rear passenger window had been smashed.

The officer's duty belt was missing from the vehicle, according to police. The duty belt contained his loaded weapon and holster, two loaded magazines, pepper spray and his police radio, according to authorities.

A neighbor found the officer's radio nearby, but nothing else was recovered.

No suspects have been identified, police said.
