Police: Recent Uptick in Indecent Assaults

Police say seeing an uptick in these types of incidents in summer months is not uncommon but is still concerning

Police in Cambridge, Massachusetts, are warning neighbors to be on “high alert” after multiple cases of indecent assault this week.

Police say seeing an uptick in these types of incidents in summer months is not uncommon but is still concerning.

The most recent assault took place on Laurel Street in Cambridge Tuesday afternoon around 3.

The victim says she was walking when the suspect approached her and started talking to her.

According to the victim, she tried to walk away several times when he followed her to Laurel Street and asked her to sit on a porch.

According to police, when she went to leave he tried to hug her and grabbed her buttocks. She then fled the area.

She describes the suspect a 25-year-old male with scraggly facial hair who identified himself as “Angel.”

Police say in recent weeks there have been two other assaults and are asking people to be careful.

They do not believe the three assaults are connected.

A suspect in one incident has been identified. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 617-349-3300.
