Police Rescue Cat Found Frozen in Ice on Pond

A cat that was found frozen in the ice on a pond is recovering after being rescued by police in Newton, New Hampshire.

The town's fire and highway departments assisted police in rescuing the cat Thursday on the pond at the corner of Jacobs Way and Heath Street.

The cat is now in the care of an animal control officer.

It's unclear how long the cat was frozen in the ice on the pond, or who the cat's owner is.
