Police Respond to Armed Road Rage Incident

A man pulled a firearm on a plow driver during an altercation

The Andover,Massachusetts, Police Department have arrested a man and will summons another after a road rage incident that occurred in a parking lot Tuesday morning.

Around 8:30 A.M. the police received a report that a physical altercation was taking place at the 354 North Main Street parking lot. Upon arrival, the police witnessed two men yelling at each other.


Michael McCullom, 51, of Andover, was charged with Assault and Battery and Assault with a Deadly weapon.

Another 51-year-old male, from North Andover, will be summonsed to Lawrence District Court for Assault and Battery and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a suspended license.


According to police, McCullom was attempting to turn when he and the other male, who was operating a snow plow, nearly crashed into each other.

McCullom then followed the plow into the parking lot and the two had a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical fight when McCullom pulled out an unloaded firearm.

McCullom was arrested on scene and was arraigned on Tuesday. He is scheduled to have a dangerousness hearing on December 31.
