Report of a Male With a Gun Causes Schools, Streets to Be Locked Down in Laconia, N.H.

Authorities in Laconia, New Hampshire, advised anyone near a specific area in town to shelter-in-place on Tuesday afternoon as they responded to a report of a man threatening another man with a firearm.

Police said when they arrived at the scene at 20 Jewett St. they found the victim, who told them the suspect was still in the apartment. Police verbally called for the suspect to come outside as other officers evacuated residences in the area, police said.

Eventually a search warrant for 20 Jewett St. was activated, along with an arrest warrant for John Doe, since the victim was not sure of the suspect's full name, according to Laconia Police.

Police say a female eventually came out of the apartment and was detained by detectives as other officers entered the building, finding noone.

A shotgun and several rounds of ammunition were found in the apartment.

The incident is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call Laconia Police.
