Police Responding to Med Call Crash Into Each Other, Elderly Woman During Pride Event

An incident that could have been worse occurred when two police officers on motorcycles ran into each other and subsequently hit a pedestrian during today's Boston Pride parade.

The Boston Police Department said Saturday that two on-duty officers who were responding to a call for an officer with a medical condition bumped into each other and then hit a pedestrian, who was in her 80s.

The crash occured in the area of Beacon and Joy Streets just after 4:00 p.m., according to police. All persons involved were reported to have minor injuries, and the crash did not disrupt the parade or other Pride events.

The officer who had made the initial call for medical help was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening medical issue, according to the Boston Police Department.
