Police Searching for 2 Inmates Who Walked Away From Minimum Security Facility

Authorities in Massachusetts are asking for the public's help in locating two inmates who walked away from a minimum security center on Wednesday.

Essex County Sheriff's Department says says Manuel Perez, 22, and Levi Montalvo, 23, walked away from the minimum security Lawrence Correctional Alternative Center.

Both pretrial inmates with family connections in Lawrence, Perez is facing motor vehicle theft charges and Montalvo is facing charges in connection with violating a restraining order.

The sheriff's department says Perez has several tattoos on both of his hands and forearms, including a tattoo of the Puerto Rican flag. Montalvo reportedly has tattoos of skulls on his abdomen, back and left arm.

Although they're not classified as violent offenders, authorities are asking the public to not approach them and call the Essex County Sheriff's Department at 978-750-1900 x3302 or local police.
