Police Seeking Suspect Leaving Nails in New Hampshire Road

Police in Pelham, New Hampshire are searching for at least one suspect after several oranges and other objects loaded with nails were found along Nashua Road on Sunday night.

The nails, which ended up giving one driver a flat tire, were embedded into oranges and strips of cardboard.

“This prank is extremely dangerous, and extremely serious,” said Pelham police Sgt. Glen Chase. “It could have been catastrophic if we weren’t able to locate that and clear it from the roadway.”

Police said they suspect a teenager — or teenagers — are likely responsible for the stunt.

“I have kids, so that concerns me,” said Ashley Rios, who lives near Nashua Road. “I have pets, too. My dog goes outside.”

Police said the suspect — or suspects — could face criminal charges.
