Police: Suspects Break Into Store, Use Torch on ATM

Police are investigating after two suspects broke into a Massachusetts gas station and apparently tried to use an acetylene torch to steal from an ATM.

Surveillance footage shows the suspects smashing the front door of the Exxon station on Harvard Road in Ayer around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. One person can be seen crawling in before folding the door up and removing it with the other suspect.

The person outside is seen in the footage feeding in what police believe to be a lit acetylene torch. Investigators say this device was used to take an unknown amount of money from the ATM.

The whole break-in took a little over a minute, police said. By the time officers could respond, the suspects were gone.
