Police: Trooper Pushed Man Out of Car's Path, was Struck

The trooper suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries

A New Hampshire State Police trooper is recovering from his injuries after he pushed a man out of the path of an oncoming vehicle and was struck.

State police say Trooper Christopher Prenaveau was investigating a crash in Madbury on Saturday. Prenaveau and the driver, 21-year-old Keith Correll, were standing near the crash when a second vehicle approached the scene.

Police say the driver of the second car lost control and began to slide toward the two men. Prenaveau pushed Correll out of the vehicle's path, saving him from being struck, and was hit by the car.

Prenaveau suffered serious injuries not considered life-threatening. Police say he was released from the hospital Sunday morning. No one else was hurt.
