Police in Harwich, Massachusetts, say they had to use a Taser on a dog that attacked them Sunday night.
Harwich police said they were conducting a well-being check at a North Harwich residence.
After police gained access to the home, the dog bit an officer in the legs.
A Taser was used to stun the dog, which was then secured.
The subject of the well-being check was subsequently located and taken to Cape Cod Hospital.
The officer was taken to Cape Cod Hospital as well and was treated and released.
