Police: Vermont Father, Son Arrested in NH on Drug Charges

Police in New Hampshire say a Vermont father and son are facing drug charges after investigators found more than 2,500 bags of heroin in their motel room.

Lebanon police say 18-year-old Dylan Avery and his father, 37-year-old Thomas Avery - both of Barre - were arrested and appeared in court Friday.

Lebanon Deputy Police Chief Phil Roberts told the Valley News that's "a large amount" of heroin for the Upper Valley.

Authorities say they searched the Averys' room at the Baymont Inn & Suites based on a tip from Vermont State Police.

Dylan Avery is being held on $100,000 bail. His father was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bail.

No phone listing for the men could be found. It was not immediately known if they have lawyers.
