Power Restored to 3 MBTA Lines Overnight

Regularly scheduled service has resumed for three MBTA lines that experienced power outages Thursday in downtown Boston.

The MBTA said around 8 p.m. that the Blue Line, Green Line and Orange Line were delayed by up to 20 minutes. At 9 p.m., the agency announced that regularly scheduled service had resumed on the Red Line.

Trains were moving slowly until they were allowed to proceed or standing by, the agency said. The outage also forced the Maverick and Bowdoin stops to close temporarily.

Officials were able to restore power to the three lines by 1:40 a.m.
