Pretrial Hearing for “House of Squalor” Father

Raymond Rivera and the mother, Erika Murray, had seven children, three of whom were found dead in the home

The father of four children found living in the Blackstone, Massachusetts, "house of squalor" is expected in court for a pretrial hearing Wednesday.

Raymond Rivera and the mother, Erika Murray, had seven children, three of whom were found dead in the home.

Prosecutors say the family was living in squalor, with feces and trash all over the place and the home was infested with vermin.

Rivera hasn't been charged with murder, but is being held on $100,000 bail.

Prosecutors say Murray had five children in seven years, and she wanted to hide her pregnancies because Rivera didn't want any more kids.

They say she gave birth in a bathroom inside her home, alone and with no medical assistance.
Her attorney says she did not kill any of her children.

The hearing Wednesday will give the both the prosecution and defense time to view each other’s witness lists, along with other evidence.
