Boston hosted the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday.
The streets of Boston were alive with the sounds of salsa music and delicious scent of tostones.
The parade started at Boylston Street at Herford Street inbound. It then went left onto Tremont Street, continued onto Cambridge Street and ended at City Hall Plaza at approximately 3 p.m.
A stage was set up at City Hall where musicians Willito Otero, Paddy Padilla and Pete Perignon y La Nueva Generacion performed.
The 51st year of festivities, run by the Puerto Rican Festival of Massachusetts, Inc, started July 23 with a flag-raising in the plaza.
Boylston Street was closed between Massachusetts Avenue and Exeter Street from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for setup, and the full parade route remained closed through approximately 3:30 p.m.
