Bill Murray Goes to Fall River Restaurant in Quest for Delicious Pierogis

Murray came from Martha's Vineyard just to try the restaurant's pierogis

A Fall River restaurant owner was pleasantly surprised this weekend when actor Bill Murray stopped by her store.

The award-winning actor traveled over 70 miles Saturday to Patti’s Pierogis on a quest to find quality pierogis. Murray was accompanied by Academy Award winner Peter Farrelly, director of "Dumb and Dumber" and "Green Book," who Murray was staying with on Martha’s Vineyard, The Fall River Herald reports.

“They came all the way to Fall River just for pierogis,” said Patti Geary, owner of Patti’s Pierogis, according to the Herald.

Murray and Farrelly ate pierogis while drinking wine and vodka during their one-hour visit, Geary told the newspaper. They came during a slow time of day for the restaurant and didn’t want to draw a lot of attention. However, they were happy to talk and take a picture, Geary said.

“He was a really nice guy, it was a great visit,” she said.

Patti’s Pierogis has drawn high profile attention in the past. In 2012, Guy Fieri filmed an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” at the restaurant.
