Quincy Man Charged With Trying to Stab MBTA Bus Driver

MBTA Transit Police arrested a Quincy, Massachusetts, man late Monday night for allegedly trying to stab an MBTA bus driver through the bus window on Tuesday evening.

The bus driver told responding officers that a man, later identified as 25-year-old Dennison Drew, tried to board his out of service bus just outside of Dudley Station.

When the driver signaled to Drew that he could not board the bus, Drew allegedly walked around to the driver's side and repeatedly attempted to stab the driver through the window.

The driver said the suspect continued to stab the window, even as the driver held it shut and then drove away. The suspect eventually let go and was later apprehended by police as he was walking towards Malcolm X Boulevard, holding the knife with the blade extended.

After dropping the weapon upon the officer's request, Drew was arrested for assault by means of a dangerous weapon.

It's unclear if he has an attorney.
