Police in Quincy, Massachusetts are warning residents to keep a close eye on their deliveries after a group of four, which included a juvenile, allegedly stole at least 10 packages in the area.
Authorities say that on Nov. 30, a resident called police just after 4 p.m. to report a man had allegedly tried to steal a package delivered to her Dixwell Avenue home. While a responding officer was interviewing the victim, an off-duty lieutenant contacted dispatch about a blue Altima in the area that was acting suspiciously.
The responding officer found the Altima when it pulled into a driveway on Dimmock Street. An investigation determined the four occupants in the vehicle had at least 10 packages, all believed to have been stolen. Officials said the vehicle pulled into the driveway in an effort to elude officers.
Police arrested 22-year-old Katherine Olivares-Soto, 22-year-old Xavier Soto, 21-year-old Antoni Garcia-Mota and an unidentified juvenile. All four suspects were charged with receiving stolen property and the three adults had outstanding warranted for their arrest, according to the Quincy Police Department.
It's unclear when the accused will be arraigned or if they have attorneys.
Authorities seized the alleged stolen items and are currently trying to contact the rightful owners.
Residents are being reminding that package theft cases increase during the holidays. To prevent items from being stolen, police advise everyone to send their packages to a trusted friend, relative, family member or even to your place of work.

Requesting a signature is also said to decrease the chance of having your package stolen, according to Quincy police.
