RI Teen Facing Charges in Penn State Frat House Death

A Barrington, Rhode Island, teenager is facing charges in connection with the hazing death of a Penn State University student who was pledging at a fraternity house.

According to affiliate WJAR, Lars Kenyon is facing charges of recklessly endangering another person, hazing, furnishing alcohol to minors and unlawful acts relative to liquor.

Those charges are in relation to the death of Timothy J. Piazza, who was pledging at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house in February 2017.

Piazza died after officials said he had a large amount of alcohol and fell down the fraternity’s basement stairs.

Officials say none of the fraternity members who knew he fell got help until the next morning. Piazza died days later.

Kenyon told a WJAR reporter who reached out that he had no comment.

The Beta Theta Pi has since disbanded
