Sweater weather continues to be the case for the second day of the work week. Tuesday brings clouds with a few afternoon rain showers mixing with flurries. Highs today remain in the 40s.

Overnight, there will be a few lingering flurries north, otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy with lows near 30. With lows below freezing, patchy black ice is possible.

We start off with sun Wednesday, then clouds thicken as the day progresses. Highs still remain in the upper 40s for most, with a few spots hitting 50.

The end of the week is when we finally see a change in the pattern as a warm front sweeps in. Highs stretch into the mid to upper 50s. Expect cloudy skies and a few downpours along the front, mainly along and north of the Massachusetts Turnpike Thursday afternoon and evening.

[NECN] Showers Today with a Mix of Snow

Today (Tuesday): Cloudy with a few showers, some mixing with snow. Highs in the 40s.

As the parent low associated with the warm front slides across the region, a trailing cold front will separate 40s for the north country for Friday to mid to upper 60s south. That trailing cold front becomes the train tracks that the next system uses to move in for the second half of the weekend.

Saturday, at this point in time, remains the pick of the weekend so far, as highs reach into the 60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Sunday brings scattered afternoon showers and highs near 50.

The system associated with the Sunday showers will likely slow over New England, bringing showers to Marathon Monday. However, it all depends on timing, so we will continue to monitor as we get closer.
