Man Accused of Fatally Shooting Roommate in Randolph Pleads Not Guilty

Justin Gaston, 32, was arrested without incident in Lynn on Tuesday

The man accused of shooting and killing his roommate in their Randolph, Massachusetts home has pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to the alleged murder.

Justin Gaston, 32, was arrested without incident on Tuesday in Lynn after being on the run for about 20 hours. During the manhunt, he was considered armed and dangerous and authorities urged the public to hold back from approaching Gaston.

He was ordered to be held without bail during his arraignment at Quincy District Court Wednesday morning.

The suspect is accused of shooting 33-year-old Haki Sanders on Monday at their 27 Petipas Lane home, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.

"This was a coordinated effort, leading to his capture without incident," Michael Morrissey, Norfolk District Attorney, said.

Gaston’s arrest in Lynn was captured on cellphone video by a neighbor. Multiple units could be seen responding to the area while the suspect was handcuffed.

A motive for the alleged killing was not immediately available.

Gaston's next court date is April 2.
