The New York Yankees are calling on Red Sox nemesis Bucky Dent to throw out the first pitch before tonight's American League Division Series game in New York, according to multiple reports.
Boston fans can't forget that it was Dent who hit a critical home run to sink the Red Sox in their American League East tie-breaker game with the Yankees in 1978.
Dent hit the 3-run home run in the seventh inning off Red Sox pitcher Mike Torrez to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead. The Yankees won the game 5-4.
The Red Sox, who lead the current ALDS 2-1, will try and defy Dent and the Yankees by winning tonight and advancing to face the Houston Astros for a World Series berth.
